Mauvais Alphabet is a collaboration with artist Joélson Buggilla. It started during a residency at Utopiana, when Jorgge and Joélson worked with the “mauvaises herbes” (weeds) that grow around the urban area of Geneva, Switzerland. The project soon travelled to Paraty, Brazil, where the work were with the spontaneous plants that grow in that area. Departing from the weeds images, both artists created an “alphabet” in each of these places, with which we have been experimenting different modes of writing. A version of the alphabet was printed on fabric, using cyanotype, for the exhibition at Le Commun, Geneva, Switzerland, also in 2019.

Alfabeto Maldito é uma colaboração com o artista Joélson Buggilla. Começou durante uma residência artística na Utopiana, quando Jorgge e Joélson trabalharam com os “mauvaises herbes” (ervas daninhas) que crescem na área urbana de Genebra, na Suíça. O projeto logo viajou para Paraty, Brasil, onde o trabalho foi com as plantas espontâneas que crescem naquela região. Partindo das imagens das ervas daninhas, os dois artistas criaram um “alfabeto” em cada um desses lugares, com o qual temos experimentado diferentes modos de escrita. Uma versão do alfabeto foi impressa em tecido, em cianótipo, para a exposição no Le Commun, Genebra, Suíça, também em 2019.
